The Savaria V-1504 wheelchair lift is designed to carry a wheelchair passenger in residential or commercial settings. The standard model is unenclosed and can be customized to suit your site needs, or the architectural styling of the surroundings. The lift features a hydraulic drive that is enclosed in the attached tower, eliminating the need for a machine room and providing long-term, reliable operation with a smooth start and stop. The V-1504 unenclosed lift is well-suited for outdoor applications, two-stop indoor applications, or installation inside a shaftway for multiple stops.

Why choose a V-1504 standard wheelchair lift

Hydraulic power, flexible options

The standard Savaria V-1504 hydraulic powered wheelchair platform lift is our most popular vertical lift. It can be built to meet a wide range of site conditions and design preferences. Ideal for home use (often inside a hoistway), and public buildings including schools, places of worship, retail and hospitality settings, this lift can include an ADA-compliant platform to meet commercial accessibility needs. It features a 750 lb capacity, continuous pressure operation, non-skid platform and a wide range of options for customization.

Machine roomless

The smooth running, quiet drive system is contained inside the lift tower, therefore no machine room is needed. The electronic-free relay logic controller operates the 2:1 chain hydraulic drive to serve two levels with 48" of travel, or optionally to 60" (72" for home use) when not installed inside a shaftway.

When installed inside a shaftway/hoistway, the V-1504 can travel up to 14' in the USA and 23' for residential use or use in Canada, with up to 4 stops. Note that safety code does not permit any vertical platform lift to penetrate a floor. A shaftway will be required for a V-1504, or see the Prolift, or the Savaria Orion elevator.

Basic to upscale

Pit or ramp access

The most common application for the standard V-1504 is access to a raised deck or porch area, or a change in level created by a short staircase. To create a level landing, a 3-inch pit is required under the lift. Alternatively, you can opt for an automatic access ramp* that provides a sloped entrance for access.

*note that the ramp slope ratio for existing buildings is 1:8, and for new construction it must be 1:12.

Hoistway option

The V-1504 lift can be installed inside a constructed hoistway. A support wall with anchorage to the lift tower is needed, along with wood framing and drywall to finish the shaft interior. This type of installation can include finished 80" cab walls, similar to the feel of an elevator. A full-sized solid door with window is added along with a door operator and interlock system for safety. Please see more information about hoistway construction in the planning guide.

Call stations are included for each landing to summon the lift
Both the operating panel and call stations come standard with keyed access for security purposes

The V-1504 is an accessibility lift that uses continuous pressure operation and features a 36" by 54" platform

Configurations

The lift can be configured to for either straight-through or 90-degree access, or with a single same-side entry/exit.

Battery Back-up

Full battery back-up operation can be added to allow the lift to operate several trips up and down during a power failure.

Automatic Ramp

An automatic folding access ramp is included for non-hoistway applications in commercial settings and is optional for residential use.

Folding Seat

A folding seat with 330 lb capacity can be added to accommodate those with mobility issues who are not using a wheelchair.

Keyless

The V-1504 can be ordered with keyless operation on the platform and call stations.

Gates/Doors

The standard platform gate, or upper landing gate feature steel panels. You can upgrade the gates to include clear acrylic or glass insert panels. Hoistway applications feature a full-sized door with a variety of door types including ULC fire-rated and low-profile aluminum styles. Gates and doors can be upgraded with power operators, including large 60 mm buttons.

Finishes

Optional powder coat finishes include gloss, semi-gloss and Velvacoat textures in a variety of colors. Over 200 RAL colors are also available at additional cost. For hoistway models with 80" cab interiors, choose from a variety of durable melamine selections. See the color chart here.

Enclosure option

Savaria also offers the V-1504 with factory-built enclosure. This is an ideal solution for outdoor use to protect users from inclement weather. It is also possible to use the enclosure inside when servicing a balcony or mezzanine area.
